Prince Harry and Meghan set to launch new video game ahead of King’s Coronation

HARRY and Meghan are set to pile more misery on the Royal Family by launching their own video game ahead of the King’s Coronation.

Gamers can choose to play as either the Duke of Sussex or his wife, escaping Buckingham Palace and travelling the world by Rolls-Royce, private plane and even jet ski as they try to reach California.

Obstacles in their way will include rival royals and the media.

But the Sussexes will be able to cash in on their royal status, collecting tokens which boost their prestige.

The cutting-edge software, which carries a 12 rating, will feature realistic avatars of the couple and other senior royals.

Harry & Meghan: Call of Dukey has been scheduled for release on PS5 and Xbox in early May — just a week before Charles is crowned King at Westminster Abbey.

The project, dubbed Crown Theft Auto, has been developed by Dundee-based gaming firm Flair Loop, with cooperation from Harry and Meghan.

A source at the firm said: “Prince Harry has spoken of his love of gaming so we approached him with the idea and he loved it.

“It seemed the logical progression after the success of his book and Netflix series.

“It’s all tongue-in-cheek and there are some brilliant secret levels, including one where the player finds themself in the Duke of York’s bedroom, confronted by a raging Prince Andrew bouncing on his bed, hurling teddy bears.

“In another scene, the couple fill a hot-air balloon by mouth so they can flee in it.”

But royal insiders fear the launch’s “insensitive” timing will only drive a bigger rift between the Sussexes and the monarchy.

One said: “It won’t go down well at the Palace.

“There are fears it may harm sales of the official Coronation video game.”
