Oodaalolly Chocolate Opens Nutraceutical Division

SAN FRANCISCO, California - In addition to creating award-winning bean to bar chocolate, Oodaalolly is proud to leverage its deep scientific knowledge and expertise of theobroma cacao, the plant from which chocolate is derived.

  • Oodaalolly leverages its vast well of scientific knowledge vis-à-vis cacao and its supportive health effects by introducing a suite of nutraceutical products.

  • The new products have the same great taste as conventional chocolates while promoting circulatory health.

  • Health claims are backed by rigorous double-blind peer-reviewed studies and a general gut feeling that cacao flavanols are good for human health.

Oodaalolly Chocolate, the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality chocolate and cocoa products that bear its name,  leverages its vast scientific knowledge vis-à-vis cacao and its supportive health effects by introducing a suite of nutraceutical products. The new suite of products – made from 100% pure Philippine grown cacao – tastes just like chocolate because it is, in fact, chocolate. By unlocking the power of science, the chocolate tablets are uniquely crafted to preserve the nutrients of cacao.

Cacao naturally contains a suitable level of flavanols to optimize blood flow throughout the body. It is a good source of iron, magnesium, and potassium. The chocolate can be combined with herbs and other phytonutrients to further enrich Oodaalolly’s range of nutraceutical chocolates with bold taste combinations and other medicinal properties — backed by science or simply based on the latest trends that consumers are gullible enough to take at face value.

Gen X, Gen Y, Gen Z, Alphas, Millennials, Xennials, Boomers, and pretty much every generation that ever existed believe they need to purchase things they like.

COVID meant people stuck at home were surrounded by people they ostensibly liked but realized weren’t so great. This accelerated consumers' interest in beauty and food products with purported beneficial health effects. Eating and living well became the trendy thing to do because there was nothing else they could do in a world in which they no longer had any ounce of control.  Also, they got tired of looking at aesthetically challenged home dwellers.

Furthermore, every generation, no matter the arbitrary label, believe they need to “nurture their nature” by buying things they don’t really completely understand but nevertheless think they need to keep their body and mind strong, and, more importantly, maintain their outward appearance to gain new social media follows and likes. As such, they look out for whole foods that are scientifically proven or bunk-scientifically proven to actively support their health. They are well informed about which and what amount of macro- and micronutrients marketers tell them to consume.

Oodaalolly’s nutraceutical line tastes good and, as luck would have it, has been tested and validated through consumer research by independent global research agencies who discovered that people like things that taste good. Oodaalolly’s consumer appeal and purchase intent have been tested as part of these studies, indicating a high interest in the new nutraceutical category.

“The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated consumers’ interest in mindless online impulse buys, especially if the product has health and wellness properties, real or imagined. Introducing this new category of nutraceutical chocolates gives consumers what they think they want, even though it's just chocolate in a vaguely pharmaceutical-looking package. Who are we to argue with consumer preferences and/or misconceptions?  As 50 Cent teaches, you gotta “Get Rich or Die Tryin'” and we plan to do just that through innovation in packaging and marketing to cater to evolving consumer trends.”

Promoting Circular Reasoning

The health effects of flavanols have been studied multiple times. Experts found that those study participants who survived kept on living until they died of natural causes. Oodaalolly’s deep well of scientific knowledge of cacao and the effect of flavanols on circulatory health are pretty handy because they mean it can make and market a product with all sorts of claims that, in this case, are pretty much true!

For example, our lawyers tell us that we can say the following words in the following order and not fall afoul of regulatory bodies: Cacaofruit flavanols help maintain the elasticity of blood vessels, which benefits the blood flow to, for example, organs such as the heart, muscles, brain, and skin.

Science!

Composed of almost 20,000 different types of molecules, cacao is pretty complex. Oodaalolly Chocolate is the latest in a long line of people and entities that use this wonderful natural item to make chocolate, which people in general really like.  The R&D behind its chocolate took quite a while, and by happy accident, there is credible data available from more than 100 human clinical studies which provide sound scientific proof of the health effects of the cacao flavanols. It also tastes good.
